My moodboards have quite a gothic feel to them with some of the images bordering on the macabre, I find beauty in things that some others may view as grotesque, preferring style with more of an edge to anything typically considered prim or glamourous which I feel to be a bore. I'm fascinated by anything obscure, particularly with regards to artwork, I feel it should be thought provoking as opposed to just looking pretty/trying to be "cool", although generally when you find something interesting then to you it is "pretty" in some way, so to speak.
I have included some images of nature as I'm a bit of an undercover hippy at heart and have an avid interest in the conservation of the environment due to studying on a 2 year environmental sciences course a few years back. The natural world has often been a source of great inspiration for me and I am particularly interested in plants, seeds and other organisms viewed under a microscope (such as the purple/green image in the top moodboard).
I'm very much into music and enjoy listening to music of many different genres eg. nineties grunge, hiphop, dnb, jungle, ragga, rock, ska, punk, balkan, folk, alternative, literally too many to name. I'm not particularly into current pop music, I cannot stand Rihanna, Cheryl Cole and other manufactured pop acts, I like music with a bit of originality (although I will admit that a good cheese fest is definitely a winner at times). This is probably something to do with the fact that a large amount of my friends are DJs and producers who I met growing up in the underground rave and squat scene from about the age of 13. I feel that my teen years have had a big impact on my taste today, as I was introduced to a large variety of people who in turn introduced me to a large variety of music and style that I perhaps would not have come across otherwise, particularly at that age.
